It is a pleasure to introduce you to the Rockland Community Foundation. We are the newest of17 other community foundations across the state of New York. The Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life for all people in Rockland County by increasing charitable giving and connecting donors to community needs which they care about most. Our goal is to build a permanent endowment by reaching out to nonprofit organizations and individual donors so that they may consider placing their funds under the Rockland Community Foundation. We are structured as an umbrella nonprofit organization so that we can serve many types of donors and enable other nonprofits, should they choose, to take advantage of the Foundations's endowment managment services to possibly gain a better return for their organizations. Placing a fund under our umbrella allows nonprofits and donors to concentrate thier efforts on raising funds for thier cause while utilizing the Foundations's tax-exempt status, thereby eliminating the need to spend the time and money to establish thier own 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization.
